KLOWN CORNER  (‘Oli ‘Oli)

The Clowns wish to extend a very big mahalo to all !!

- - we served spaghetti to 135 folks! - - who supported our 7th Annual Spaghetti Feast  at the  Beach Club on Sunday, September 7th!  It was a joy to behold such a nice turnout.       Special thanks are extended to Gary and Janice Nantkes who are always there for all of us and who were important culinary helpers in the preparation of “Chazo’s (Charles Wegener)” special spaghetti sauce Saturday evening!  Sunday’s preparations were efficiently and effectively executed by clowns and their ladies: “No Na’me  (Warren Cole)” and Lyn; “Lenny da Hobo (Leonard Ho)”; “’Oli ‘Oli (Don Orton)” and Puanani; “Chuckles (Don Perkins)” and Mary; “Crackers (Jim Tyson)” and Sawako; Chazo’s mom, Eleanor ; and, “Ziggy (Herman Zulueta)” and Barbara.  Puanani and the ladies are complimented on their balloon sculpture centerpieces.  Special thanks are also extended to Sonny Naha’lea pasta chef par excellence !  And we gratefully acknowledge the hustle of Michelle and Blue Cole (Warren and Lyn’s daughter-in-law and son) who worked the crowd for the 50 – 50 to benefit the Patients’ Transportation Fund!  They collected $411!  And, last but certainly not least, we thank Janet Larson, our Chief Rabban Pete’s Lady, for her gracious generosity in donating her winning share of the 50 – 50!     With our “big event” of the year completed, we look forward to supporting the Legion of Honor’s upcoming Steak Fry,  Sunday, October 19th and hope to see you there.

So, until next time, keep smiling!

The Seoul Shrine Club at Yongsan United States Army base in Korea will be marching in the Columbus day parade  on 11 October.   Seoul Shrine Club is also starting to work with the Pearl S. Buck Foundation,  to assist  in mentoring  some of the young teens in the orphanage in Seoul.  We are hoping to have the 8 new candidates for Aloha temple to come over and conduct a Hot sands for us. I will keep you in formed of what is going on in Korea. This is all I have at this time.
